L.E.A.P. – Learning Enrichment Activities Program
Instructors: Melanie Rickett Day/Time: Wednesdays 9:30-12:25 The goal of L.E.A.P. is not to teach your child how to read or how to add but rather to encourage them to love reading, to see math, to use science and to explore history. These ages are very impressionable, and we believe that you, as the parent, know the heart of your child and know what that child is ready for academically. This class will expose them to wonderful books and show how those books relate to the world around them through reading, hands-on activities, arts and crafts and, most of all, fun! |
H.O.P. – Hands-On Phonics
H.O.P. is a component of LEAP which includes interactive phonics that will help new or struggling learners. The success of your student’s reading ability will depend on parent participation and student’s learning abilities, keeping in mind that each student has their own unique learning style and pace. The goal is to encourage students to love learning and not be discouraged with the process of phonics. We will focus on identifying letters, consonant sounds, vowel sounds, and blends. Students will approach learning through games, word building, music, muscle memory, arts, crafts and worksheets. |
