OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe students can reap the benefits of a group setting which provides accountability and support in a way that upholds the fundamental values of homeschooling.  We desire a relationship with each family and student, encouraging success through a relaxed but challenging environment that will nurture a love for learning.  We believe in focusing on each student's unique abilities and goals as a guide to their learning and a measure of their individual success. While we are providing a multi-level learning environment, we feel that this can be a more adaptable environment for those students who may have social anxieties or learning needs.  Many times, the traditional classroom does not work well for these types of students.  Our learning environment will allow for students to seek quiet space in our sensory room, put on head phones, have one on one instruction when needed.  We encourage you to call and talk to us about your student.

We strive to create individualized learning plans for each student and foster a love of learning. When needed we offer assessments to better meet our students needs. We also incorporate "circles" each morning to create a safe space for students to talk and learn important social skills and personal development.

Focusing on the six areas of wellness, we build individual learning plans based on a student's needs and ability. If you would like to see your student thrive and have added support for your homeschool, HLT may be right for you. Through passionate teachers and experienced special needs and support specialists, HLT offers more than your typical tutorial or co-op and can help your struggling learners and challenge your learning-enabled students.

WHAT WE DO

We've stepped away from the traditional classroom setting of public and private schools and tutorials to a more engaging, multi-level learning environment that encourages thinking, discussion, creativity and growth. Students will learn to work together, talk together and grow together. Upper Elementary grades will have these same opportunities within their own peer groups and in their own learning center. Older students learn leadership skills and work with younger students.

As with all things HLA, we strive to offer parents and students choices, freedom and flexibility and to nurture a love of learning.
