EmBlaze "Launch & Learn"

EmBlaze "Launch and Learn" (12:00-1:30) on Thursdays is ideal for students needing a safe and encouraging space to learn and practice social skills. This can be a great option for students with social anxiety. During this time, students will enjoy a time for students to socialize, play problem-solving games, and learn social skills and develop their executive function. Staff can encourage fun, uplifting time together.. Afterward, there is time with our experienced staff and teachers to work on social and executive functioning skills using CHOICES curriculum.
Topics covered through conversation circles, games, role-play, read-alouds, and more will include:
- Verbal and Non-verbal Communication
- Planning and Daily Decisions
- Paying Attention
- Taking Care of Your Body and Mind
- Self-control
- Flexibility
Students will also have one opportunity each month for EmBlaze Social Club offered for a Parent's Night Out and the students to get together and have some fun with dinner and games.
