Our Philosophy

We believe students can reap the benefits of a group setting which provides accountability and support in a way that upholds the fundamental values of homeschooling.  We desire a relationship with each family and student, encouraging success through a relaxed but challenging environment that will nurture a love for learning.  We believe in focusing on each student's unique abilities and goals as a guide to their learning and a measure of their individual success. While we are providing a multi-level learning environment, we feel that this will be a more adaptable environment for those students who may have social anxieties or learning needs.  Many times, the traditional classroom does not work well for these types of students.  Our learning environment will allow for students to seek quiet space, put on head phones, have one on one instruction when needed.  We encourage you to call and talk to us about your student.
Focusing on critical thinking skills, discussion and a student's particular learning style, we will incorporate STEaM classes, projects and labs for a well-rounded foundation to learning.   Group study and discussion is key.

What We Do

We've stepped away from the traditional classroom setting of public and private schools to a more engaging, multi-level learning environment that encourages thinking, discussion, creativity and growth. Junior High and High School students will learn to work together, talk together and grow together. Upper Elementary grades will have these same opportunities within their own peer groups and in their own learning center.

As with all things HLA, we strive to offer parents and students choices, freedom and flexibility and to nurture a love of learning.  Read More...
